How to use LVTR

To conduct a search on the LVTR database, select the drop down menus below (in the left column) to specify information about your search: for example an author's name, article title, a keyword, or a publication year. To simplify your search, especially if you're not sure of the exact reference you want, you can simply put in an authors last name, or words from the title of the article, or a keyword (see list below). Adding in the year of publication narrows the search. For example, using the pull dow menu to select the Boolean "is greater than" and specifying the year 2000 returns alls citations containing the specified search term(s) from 2001 to the present. Boolean searches allow you to combine different search parameters. For example, you can search for the author and keyword or some combination of author, keyword, title, or year.

Important: You must specify a search entries from top to bottom. For example, assuming the default dropdown box selections, you must fill in the field for "author" before filling in the field for "title." So if you want to conduct a "title" search, select "title" in the top dropdown menu, rather than skipping it and entering your search term in the second search field.
